Good and bad things of the whole project..

Good

  • We have a range of different resources available to us, where we have different camera's to film it and Tripods and also different lights and gels so we can change the colours if we wanted.
  • We have already found 1 location that we need, but we just need another suitable location which is a street that is quiet and accessible for us to use.
  • We have a good range of people in our group where some of us have good organisational skills, and also we have someone who can edit well, and then we have someone who can direct the cast well. Even though we can use a camera, we will get someone who is more confident on using a camera so they can help us shoot it from different angles.
  • We have also found a suitable actress for this who will be in our advert.
Bad

  • Time management is a huge issue for this project as we only have a certain amount of time left to film and edit all of this, so if we don't plan it wisely we will end up failing.
  • Weather wise, if we want to film the street part on a certain day, and it is raining we will just have to make do with what we have.

The Idea

  • Our idea is that it will be set at night time in a bedroom, the main light will be on but dim, so it won't be too bright and it wont be too dark, there will be fairy lights on and music playing. A girl is getting ready for a party where she is all dressed and made up ready to go out.
  • It will be in black and white
  • But then when the girl applies her lipstick (the camera will be close up on her lips) for the 'final touch to her outfit' the camera zooms out from her lips the colour the shows, as if there is a splash of colour.
  • When the girl is ready she puts the lipstick in her bag and walks down the stairs and out through the door (we will have various camera angles for this to make it more exciting)
  • As she walks up the street she turns back and says to the camera 'Get The London Look' (just like they do in Rimmel London adverts) and walks off.

What it will look like when we add colour to the black and white.

Rimmel London

  • The makeup brand we are going to do our advert on is Rimmel London.

  • It was founded by Eugene Rimmel in 1934, in Regent street, London, England.
  • He was born in France in 1920, where his father was a french perfumer, his father accepted an invitation to manage a perfumery in London, they then moved there.
  • In 1934, Eugene created his own perfumery called 'The House Of Rimmel, in the same year father and son both created their first cosmetic products.
  • By the age of 24 Eugene became a talented perfumer and cosmetic developer.
  • Observed by many beauty historians as the beauty and healthcare industries, Rimmel helped with the concept of hygiene and bathing. Eugene was also first to develop scented pomades and mouth rises where his signature was 'Toilet vinegar'
  • When his father died in 1887, his two sons took over the business, they extended the brand lines to make more colour cosmetics and also eye enhancing products.
  • Rimmel carried on as a family owned company until 1949, where it is now owned by 'Coty Inc.'

Rimmel London is now one of the worlds popular make up producers!

  • Their moto is 'Get The London Look'
  • Their aim is to show the message of 'Beauty with Attitude'
  • Rimmel London's target audience is 18-24 year old females who normally buy and wear make up.
  • Their four main focuses of the Rimmel London brand are: Products, Looks, London and Kate Moss, who is the face of Rimmel London.
  • There have been many different faces to advertise Rimmel London, Holly Willoughby, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Lily Cole, Georgia May Jagger and Coco Rocha.
  • Rita Ora has also got her own make up brand with Rimmel London.
